"Heating and cooling units were installed upside down, inspectors found. Concrete steps were uneven. Cracked and wet lumber had to be torn out. A ramp for the disabled was too steep for wheelchairs, and the landmark clock tower listed to one side."
.7 billion wasted…

I’m helping my neighbor build a ramp so he can get into his house. I need to know the maximum angle it can be. It is a motorized wheelchair, not the amigo style.

A wheelchair ramp is 8.2m long. It rises 94cm. Determine the angle of inclination of the ramp.

A wheelchair ramp should have a slope of 1/12 or less.
The rise is 75cm and the run is 8m.
a) Does the wheelchir ramp meet the requirements?
b) If a second ramp is to be built with a rise of 90cm, what is the shortest length that will still meet the building code?
Please show me your work!

My handicapped parents are coming to my house for Thanksgiving, and I have tried (unsuccessfully) to find someone to build us a temporary ramp for my front porch steps, so my dad can get into the house on his motorized scooter. Does anyone know of any agencies or businesses that either rent or loan ramps on a temporary basis? Eventually I will probably buy one, but I just need one for Thursday at this point. Cooking dinner at their house is not an option due to the small size of their kitchen and the number of people involved in our gathering.

Please help me with this.
A wheelchair ramp is needed at a restuarant entrance. The building code requires that the angle between the ramp and the ground be a maximum of 8 degree for electric wheelchairs and 5 degree for hand propelled wheelchairs. The owner of the restaurant builds a ramp that starts on the ground 3.97 m from the building. The ramp is 4m long with a rise of 0.45 , Does the ramp satisfy the building code for both of wheelchairs?

Personally, I’d love to see Teddy Long push her in that wheelchair of hers down the ramp into a pit of poisonous vipers. Jake the Snake, where are you?

I want to start a non-profit organization that will be 100% volunteers to raise money through fundraisers, grants, etc. With this money, I would like to select 1 (or more) paralyzed resident (based on their application) of my local community a year to help improve their quality of life. I hope to raise money for things like automobile modifications, wheelchair accessible bathroom, ramps, etc. I just don’t know if I do this, will it adversely affect the person receiving the "gift" of charity?

"Wheelchair Ramp-A contractor is building a wheelchair accessibility ramp ?Using your knowledge of right-triangle trigonometry, help advise him how to create a ramp whose dimensions will meet the specification needed that will allow wheelchair accessibility. Talk about the procedure the contractor will need to follow to find the dimensions of the three sides and the measurements of the three angles. Consider the implications of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) in your discussion and provide an example."

It is a solid double ended white line…like an elongated I. it is on the road outside a wheelchair ramp access to a residential house. Is it enforceable?….I ask this question because my neighbours use it as reserved parking and shuffle their three 4 x 4s through it (leave two and line open) ensuring that they can always park all their vehicles outside their house. My dad who is an OAP currently can’t even park outside his own house as they have blocked his drive. Can we park on it??

Hello, I fractured my leg on October 1, my leg is in a full leg cast and my parents are wondering if what is better for me, a wheelchair or crutches, I’m in crutches now but they are considering a change, my doctor is not in touch with us now and we can’t ask him. Principally at school I have some trouble with crutches but there are places for wheelchairs and ramps, stuff like that, stairs are the worse for me, my dad carry me out of the school when it ends, but I’m curious about using a wheelchair, I’m 12 and want to know some tips about either crutches or the wheelchair and if you have some experience, you can tell me what you prefer and what you can recommend to me to use while I’m with the cast, I have to have it for the next month. Thanks so much.

Health and Social Care coursework. I’ve tried researching and all I came up with was :
- Wheelchair access (ramps, automatic doors)
- Patient waiting room
Sorry for asking such a stupid question, I think the stress is preventing me from thinking properly

you’re in charge of building a wheelchair ramp for a doctor’s office. fedreal regulations require that the ramp must extend 12 inches for every inch of rise.the ramp needs to rise to a height of 18 inches.
how far should the end of the ramp be from the base of the building?
use pythagorean theorem to determine the lenght of the ramp.
how does changing the lenght of the the slope of the ramp change the required lenght?

They would organize charities to feed the hungry or petition the government to install wheelchair ramps in all Federal buildings so the disabled would have easy access to the buildings or maybe start a community garden in an impoverished area to help clean it up a little. They did nice things that others didn’t think of or weren’t willing to do.
Now they seem to sit around watching TV and taking notes to ensure that gays are adequately represented in sitcoms, encouraging criminal activity among our Mexican neighbors and showing the world that no matter the economic situation, or First Lady can take a vacation worthy of any European queen.
What the hell happened to you guys?
